Amazing restaurant! My wife and I thought that this place might be a tourist trap like many of the other restaurants next to it. However, this was a meal that we'll always remember. The clam chowder was the best I've ever had and the seafood pasta we ordered was fresh and so tasty. Very memorable experience!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was perfect!

This is a wonderful place. Aside from the very friendly staff and excellent service, the food is amazing. The clam chowder was the best I've had from East to West coast. The food is tasty and fresh. We're from Fontana, CA. When we come to Monterey we always stop at Old Fisherman's Grotto. It's our favorite place here.

amazing ambience, location food, and service!! i had the pleasure of having Reuben as my server, and he made our dinner an experience i will never forget with his attentiveness and dedication to what he does, which he does phenomenally! all staff members i encountered were so welcoming and friendly, it felt like everyone inside was welcome and belonged. not to mention the food, not to be punny but this place blows other seafood places out of the water, this is a MUST try !!

Thr best seafood restaurant in Monterey which also serves steaks, pastas and other delicious dishes. The best service in town with an attention to detail. Beautiful setting on the wharf with a view of the water.

The ambiance is very fancy and nice, the food is amaaaaazing, and the service was great! I highly recommend the penne Alfredo pasta with shrimp and order a drink in a pineapple it's so fun! There was also a good view of the water. And, when you walk in there's desserts on display that look amazing!

Right in center of fisherman's wharf is the Grotto. The place was boomin' yet the service Wes amazing! We came in to try the "Best Clam Chowder" on the wharf. It's true! We got a garlic crusted bread bowl with the best clam chowder. Ambiance added to the experience, it's old gentleman style with lots of seating in huge picture windows overlooking the ocean. We will return!

No one does it better than the Old Fisherman's Grotto. Phenomenal food, service, and hospitality. The decor of the restaurant is relaxed and extremely inviting. A destination for locals, and visitors alike to the central coast. Don't hesitate, and make your reservation today.

This place is great, we got here and were told it was gonna take 45 min to get in and they gave us a buzzer. 15 min later it went off and we got an upstairs table over looking the water. Great view. The service was great our waiter angel was extreamly knowledgeable and was attentive. Gave great recommendations and overall great experience. I would Def recommend the octopus and ultimate seafood risotto. Make a reservation tho ahead of time this place books up quick!
